It has been very quiet at Tikur Anbessa today. I had a chance to have lunch with my Canadian friends from the University of Toronto. I also got a chance to wander around the hospital and take a few photos. I try very hard to be discrete with my photography of these patients who often wait long hours to be seen.
Here we see Fasika Aklilu, an Ethiopian born Emergency Room physician from Toronto, showing residents how to use a portable ultrasound machine in the emergency room. Critically ill patients, at times, have to wait for medicines to be purchased and brought to the ER by a family member before treatment can begin.
Dominick, Andrew, myself, James, and Fasika having lunch a short walk from the hospital.
My meal (chicken) including dessert and coffee was about $6.
